Murviedro Colección Reserva, 2013
"Murviedro" gets it's name from the ancient walls that surround the old town. They bear witness to an ancient spirit which, even today, wanders through the caves and cellars watching over our Reserva's while they are slowing aging and evolving. This smooth, full bodied wine has been aged for 12 months in American oak barrels.
40% Tempranillo | 40% Monastrell | 20% Cabernet Sauvignon
|How it's made||
The grapes of each variety are carefully selected, destemmed and gently pressed. Vinified separately in stainless steel tanks with a prolonged maceration on the skins, using selected yeasts. Fermentation is started slowly at a low temperature, between 50 to 54 degrees F, until the end of the fermentation between 77 to 79 degrees F. Malolactic fermentation follows. The wines are then blended together. Aged for a minimum of a year, in new American oak barrels.
Ruby red color with earthy tones. This is a mature and smooth wine, with elegant aromas of fruit compote, vanilla, tobacco and chocolate. A nice full, smooth and long lasting taste with good structure that will develop further in the bottle.
Murviedro Colección Reserva is a prestigious wine ideal to accompany a variety of gourmet dishes, meats, roasts and cured cheeses. Serve at a temperature between 61 to 64 degrees F. This wine should be opened at least 30 minutes before serving.
