Montevista Carmenère, 2017
Firm, yet juicy. A cooler-climate Carmenère.
|How it's made||
The grapes for Montevista Carmenère are grown in the Maule Valley, the oldest planted and most southerly of Chile's central valley regions. The area benefits from rocky, riverine, mineral soil fed by broad and pure glacial rivers. The high mountain vineyards can be surprisingly cool which gives a freshness to the wine. Vinified in stainless steel tanks with some 6 months of gentle oak contact (in French oak staves) to add a touch of complexity.
Fresh blueberry fruit with a serious savory character and a touch of spice on the finish.
Serve with grilled lamb or a hot chili.
