Lawer Estates Cabernet Sauvignon, 2015
Generous with notes of sweet blackcurrant with depth and concentration
99.4% Cabernet Sauvignon | 0.6% Petite Sirah
|How it's made||
The grapes were picked in September, aged for 20 months in 50% new French oak barrels with the remaining 50% aged in a mix of 2 and 3 year old barrels. (181 cases produced)
The deep red and purple hues exhibit terrific depth and concentration, indicating the wine's structure. Aromas are rich, ripe and generous with notes of sweet blackcurrant, tabacco, and toasted oak. On the palate, these aromas are met with lavish cassis flavors and complemented by vanilla oak, good tannin structure and lush framework.
Ideal with steak but also burgers with gouda cheese and and a smoky barbecue sauce. Portabello mushrooms would also work.
